airline b789 boeing dreamliner lot przylot samolot warszawa

On March 23, 2018, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner registered as SP-LSA landed in Warsaw after the first flight from Paine Field, an airport serving the Boeing plant at Everett. This is the newest and largest aircraft in the LOT fleet so far. It will take up to 294 passengers on board and join the eight Dreamliners of LOT airliners in B787-8 version. In March, it will start to operate on a popular route between Warsaw and Chicago.

The first flight (so-called delivery flight) lasted over 9.5 hours, and after landing in Warsaw, a press conference was organized, on which the details of the aircraft and further development plans of LOT Polish Airlines were presented. B787-9 is 6 meters longer than B787-8 and can take 42 passengers more than the smaller version. There are three classes available to passengers: 24 seats in business class (six more than in the smaller version), 21 seats in the premium economy class (with an increased distance from 38 to 42 inches) and 249 seats in economy class. The configuration of seats in all Dreamliners (both B788 and B789) is the same, that is: 2-2-2 in business class, 2-3-2 in premium economy class and 3-3-3 in economy class. Noteworthy is the fact that the B787-9 has a larger cargo space and can take up to 140 cubic meters of cargo. The new aircraft can also travel about 700 km more than a smaller machine. The next Dreamliners in the B787-9 version will be delivered in April and June, and the last from the contract next year.

We invite you to take a look at the photos from the conference, as well as the interior of the aircraft and the machine from outside during a stop on the technical apron of LOT AMS.
