Radom has yet another time become the capital of aviation in the end of August, for another edition of bi-yearly event Radom Air Show 2023.
Undoubtedly the highlight of the event was the spectacular displays by internationally renowned aerial teams and soloists. Patrouille de Suisse, the Swiss Air Force aerobatic team, showcased their unparalleled skills in synchronised aerobatics, creating magnificent smoke paintings in the sky. Orlik Team, the Cellfast Flying Team or the 3AT3 Team also performed superbly in the air, displaying the highest level of airmanship.
Radom AirShow was also a time when you can watch many solo shows in the air – mainly on F-16 aircraft. It is worth noting the aircraft in different paintings from different countries and the way of flying and demonstrating flying skills – these shows, despite being performed on these aircraft, are very different from each other in terms of technique and flying sequence. Not to forget the guest performances of other fighters such as the F/A-18 and Eurofighter Typhoon.
This year’s edition also saw many “firsts” – it was the first public display of the M-346 Demo Team and the Casa C-295 aircraft in a special “dragon” paint scheme. Similarly, for the first time visitors could see, in a dedicated display, the AW-101 and AW-149 helicopters recently purchased by the Polish Armed Forces, as well as the latest FA-50 training machines, already in Polish paint scheme.
On the ground, the event’s ground zone came alive with presentations of historic and contemporary aircraft. From classic fighters of the inter-war period, to the legendary PZL P.11c, to transport and combat helicopters, all attracted the attention of fans of aviation and military history. Visitors also had the opportunity to take a look at the interiors of some of the machines and talk to pilots and aviation experts. Noteworthy was the visit of the KC-135, A-400M or F-35 on static display.
