In the terms of the NATO mission Baltic Air Policing for the Poland has prepared for the sixth time Polish Military Contingent – Orlik 6 in military surveillance missions airspace of the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Latvia in the period from 22 December 2014 until 15 May 2015. Polish contingent was equipped in four Migs-29 aircrafts from 23rd Tactical Air Base in Minsk Mazowiecki. This was 37th rotation of Baltic Air Policing mission. The main objective of the mission is to patrol and prevent the violation of airspace of the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Latvia and to assist military and civilian aircraft in emergency situations occurring during the flight.

Polish machines was delpoyed to Siauliai Air Base in Lithuania with four Eurofighter Typhoon of the Italian Air Force. Polish pilots realized the important tasks of training and combat, practice. A total of more than 200 flights performed. It is worth noting that for the first time the Poles appeared in the role of support nation rather than lead nation.

Thanks to the cooperation with the Lithuanian Air Force, Polish Air Force and the Italian Air Force we had the opportunity to participate in February in a unique Air-to-Air photo shoot with Polish MiGs-29 and Italian EF-2000. Flying on board the C-27J Spartan of Lithuanian Air Force we photographed these machines during joint flights daily, as well as MIG-29 in unique session in the air at sunset, which resulted in a very interesting shots. Being at the base in Siauliai we also observed flight operations and exercises of the ground – both in the Polish contingent, as well as Italian. It is worth mentioning that these photographs were published, among others, in Foto Kurier magazine, Newsweek or Onet.pl, as well as other sites.

Photos were made with Canon cameras thanks to cooperation with Proclub and Canon Poland.
